Restaurants Canada applauds federal government for plans to welcome 1.4 M newcomers by 2025
Restaurants Canada applauds the federal government’s announcement to increase immigration targets and to use immigration as a strategy to help businesses find workers and grow our Canadian economy. This is an important step in recognizing that bringing international workers into our domestic workforce is critical given the demographic pressures faced within the economy, including the foodservice sector. With this commitment from the Honourable Sean Fraser, Minister of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship, Restaurants Canada looks forward to working alongside him with our provincial and municipal partners to further improve and streamline the immigration program and to reflect the unique needs of the foodservice sector as outlined in our #RestaurantsHaveALotOnTheirPlates campaign.
